What is Artfest? Come, find out!

This is High Five, and I am so excited to be attending the Huntley Artfest this weekend!  There is even a contest for the best art, but I couldn't enter because "cutest moose" was not a category!  I've been watching the weather and so far it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend. If you are looking for something to do that you haven't done yet this summer, come on out!

The are 50 artisans with varied talents, entertainment, and food!

Click HERE to read more about the fest!

Be sure to stop by and say HI!  You won't be able to miss me...I'll be the one with the antlers!

Hope to see you there!

Where's Waldo...actually "Where's the Moose" contest...it's easy to enter.

Here is Chris Mas Moose sitting with Joey and Jenna! Take a good look at them and then we are going to play Where's Waldo?  Well, okay, not Waldo...but Where's Jenna and Joey?  So, go ahead take a good look at Jenna and Joey and then scroll down when you think you are ready?

Leave a comment telling us where you found Jenna and Joey in this picture or if you want your answer to remain a secret (just between the moose and you) e-mail them at lisatortsbook@ameritech.net.  In the subject line write CONTEST!

Doing either will automatically enter you in a contest to win a Moose at the Manger coloring book!   Do your best to describe their position.  And just to add more fun to the contest...let us know if you find the shar pei dog in this group too and where you found him.

Remember:  If you leave a comment in this post also leave an email address so we can contact you if you win!

This contest has ended.  Catch us next time!

'Til the Cows Come Home...

proves once again that reading is really FUNdamental and we certainly like to focus on the fun!  We were thrilled when we received our very own copy of

'Til the Cows Come Home

by Judy Perry Drewett.

Here we sit captivated as our friend Holt Stein and his little brother Hal get ready to read us 'Til the Cows Come Home (for the third time).  It's such a great story!

Here is what our Moo has to say about it...

" 'Til The Cows Come Home by Judy Perry Drewett is an udderly adorable and creative book with wonderful illustrations.   Thomas is introduced to the phrase "'til the cows come home". As a literal thinker, each time it is repeated, he imagines those cows right there with him from his bedroom to the lunchroom.

Drewett does a fine job using the art of repetition in her story. This will surely keep younger children interested and help them learn to read too. This is also a good way to introduce children to idioms.

The illustrations add a great deal to the story making it that much more fun to read!

I recommend you get this story now and do not wait 'til the cows come home!"
