Welcoming in the new year with a new moose!

Hello there,

My name is Sherman P. Body and I would like to thank our Moo's friend Stacey for making sure I was delivered safely. After traveling some time in a variety of different transports - plane, train, car, bag - I finally arrived at my new family home.  The address is an easy one to remember. It's simply "The Moose Room". You would think with such a generic sounding address that no one would be able to find the place, but you'd be wrong. I was amazed at how many other moose found this hot spot before I did! There are hundreds of us - from all over the world. If you are looking for a moose where you live and can't find one, I know why...they're all in The Moose Room.  I've only been here a short while, but I know one thing for sure, I am NOT leaving. No way. No how.  This place is great! It's like Disneyland for moose.  As a matter of fact, that would be a great nickname for it - Mooseland!

This is me with Chris.  He's the main moose.  He's like a big brother to all of us and he's really cool!   And, it's true, you can learn something new every day.  Do you know what I learned so far.  That moose who are domesticated, like those of us in The Moose Room, don't have to eat twigs and branches and other foods found on the forest floor. We get to eat fun food like pizza and meatballs.  Ain't that a kicker?!

Anna Lee is another new moose that came to The Moose Room this Christmas.  Here we are taking a picture with a giant sucker!  I think there's enough here for all of us moose

Well, maybe not all of us.
(Can you see me?)

I know one thing for sure.  I fit in just fine with my new family.
(Can you see me now?)

(Click on video...you know you want to!)

Not only do I know this is the best day of my life, but I hope that 2016 is the best year ever!

Merry Christmas!

From all of us - to all of you

Merry ChristMOOSE!

While we always have lots of fun, we really do know the reason for the season!

May you all have a Blessed Christmas!

Miles Around London...

We haven't blogged about children's books for awhile, but we came across a great one that we wanted to share with you.  Because we are moose and don't live in England, Miles Around London was especially fun for us.  We not only learned some neat facts about London and saw some very interesting places, we got to play along with Miles the Cat and his new-found friend Cabbie!

Here's what our Moo had to say about it:

What a great children's book!   Miles Around London is both an exciting and educational story. Children will be just as excited as Miles the Cat to tour around London.  And who doesn't like to take part in the fun?!  I don't know what kids will like more, matching up the birds at St. James Park, or the boats at Tower Bridge. Or, maybe they'll enjoy counting mice, telling time, or helping Miles get back home.  This story is a win-win.  Parents will like the educational value, as well as, the story-line. Kids will love going on Miles adventure with him and helping him out. (Who doesn't like an adventure?) The kids will definitely be learning something too, but...shhhh...you don't have to necessarily share that part.  I am a teacher and sometimes the best learning happens when you least expect it!

It's ChristMOOSE time...a MOOSE wonderful time for books!

About the Book - My Hero, My Ding

‘I awoke in the darkness listening to the sound of a jack hammer.  After a few moments, I realized it was me, the jack hammer, my heart.   Fear engulfed me and I remained still wondering why my heart was pounding so heavily in my ears.  Where was I?  The room was dark, and except for the throbbing of my heart, silence ensued.’

Even though they were hundreds of miles apart at the time, the message of her grandfather’s death reached her in a dream.

My Hero, My Ding tells the poignant story of Lisa and her grandfather and the overwhelming bond they shared.  You’ll find yourself captivated with love, and find yourself gaining a deeper understanding of life-lessons. Experience the antics that were shared and discover the respect and affection between two ordinary people with an extraordinary connection.
